An acoustic duo out of Wollongong who clearly enjoy playing together, and it shows in the room. Mel & Allen Music cover classics people already love: Ain't No Sunshine, All of Me, Brown Eyed Girl, Can't Help Falling in Love, Dancing in the Moonlight, Dreams, Drops of Jupiter, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Kiss Me. For weddings they'll work through a music questionnaire with you first, take song requests, cover the ceremony and reception, and hand over the microphone for speeches and announcements. Background music runs between sets so the room never goes quiet. PA and gear are included. They need a power point, an hour to set up, and if it's outdoors, dry ground and cover for the equipment.

Good to know
What to expect
PA and gear come with the booking, so nothing gets hired in separately. Mel and Allen are easy to have around and they present well, which matters more than people think at a wedding. Background music runs between the live sets so the room never falls into silence. If you're getting married, they'll send you a music questionnaire beforehand to work out what you actually want played, and they'll take requests on top of it. The microphone is yours whenever you need it for speeches and announcements. They stay in touch as much as you need in the lead up, no cap on that.
On the day
They need a power point for the PA and gear, plus an hour of access to the venue beforehand to get everything up and sound checked. Seated options for the two of them, and refreshments across the night. One thing to sort early if you're outdoors: if there's any chance of rain, arrange an undercover spot and make sure the ground is dry, because the PA and the electrics can't be out in it.
Performance options
For weddings there are four shapes. Ceremony only is a one hour acoustic set covering your aisle song and three requests. Ceremony plus canapes runs up to two hours: music as guests arrive, then the aisle, signing and exit songs, then through the canapes. Reception only is up to three hours, three forty five minute sets, and includes your first dance song. The full day option runs up to four hours, two hours across ceremony and canapes, then two forty five minute sets at the reception. For anything that isn't a wedding, ask and they'll quote by the hour. Travel may be added depending on where you are.
