The act
Two musicians, several instruments each, singing in harmony at the same time. That's how Kuta Groove get a sound bigger than a duo has any right to make. They've opened for Daryl Braithwaite, Johnny Diesel, Mark Gable from the Choir Boys, Kamahl, Pete Murray, Dragon and Donavon Frankenreiter. The repertoire is deliberately all-ages, running from the 60s to the current top 40 and taking in pop, country, jazz, R&B, rock and roll, disco, reggae, funk, blues, soul and dance along the way. A standard night on the Central Coast is three fifty minute sets with two breaks, background music between them, and their own PA and microphones. Requests taken from the list. The performance area needs to be covered.

What to expect
Two players making a noise you'd normally need four for. Both are multi-instrumentalists, both sing, and the harmonies happen live while they're playing rather than being layered on afterwards. There's a percussive edge to the arrangements that fills out the bottom end. The song choices run from the 60s right up to the current top 40, deliberately picked so every age group in the room finds something they know. If you've got a guest list spanning three generations, that spread does a lot of quiet work.
Performance options
A standard booking runs five hours: three sets of fifty minutes with two breaks in between. The PA comes with it, sized for a room of around 250, with two powered speakers, a mixer with effects, two wired microphones and a wireless one. Recorded music plays before they start and through the intervals, so the room never goes quiet. You can request songs from their current list. Consultation with the band beforehand is included, as is early set up so the gear is done before your guests walk in, and a lighting system.
