The act
Mellow is the word Kristina Reitsma uses, and she means it as a specialty rather than an apology. Guitar and voice, easy listening, the kind of live music that gives a Sydney wedding atmosphere without shouting over the conversation. Her repertoire reaches back to Michael Jackson and Fleetwood Mac and forward to Ben Howard and The Paper Kites, and she likes stripping songs back so they arrive a little differently than you remember. This is a ceremony and canapes act more than a party one. She carries her own gear including a battery amp, so a venue with no power still works, as long as she knows beforehand.

Good to know
What to expect
Mellow is the whole idea here, not a compromise. Kristina plays guitar and sings, and the sound is easy listening built to give a room atmosphere without talking over the top of it, which is exactly what you want during a ceremony or while guests are working through canapes. Worth knowing before you enquire: she doesn't do party sets or fast dance music, and she's upfront about that rather than saying yes and disappointing you later. So if the brief is a full dance floor, she's not your act. If it's the gentler half of the day, she's very much it.
On the day
She carries all her own gear, and that includes a battery amp, so a venue with no power still works fine. The one thing she asks is that you tell her in advance, because whether there's a power point changes what she packs into the car.
Performance options
The popular one covers the ceremony and canapes: 15 to 20 minutes of music as guests arrive, three songs of your choosing through the ceremony itself for the aisle, the signing and the exit, then up to an hour and a half of canape music with a half hour minimum. The bigger option adds the reception on top, with up to three 45 minute sets, your first dance played live, and a father-daughter dance if you're having one. If neither shape is quite right, say so when you enquire and she'll look at it.
