The act
Kim Stolen sings with real weight behind the voice, and it suits more than one genre. Alongside Dan Ablett on guitar, percussion and backing vocals, the Perth duo covers pop, R&B and the sort of 60s through 90s material that keeps a wedding reception moving. Weddings, corporate nights and private parties are the bread and butter. If the shape of your event calls for something else, Kim also works as a solo singer or fronts a full band, and there's a trio option with saxophone or accordion. Song list on request. And if your venue has no power, they'll bring a battery powered PA that handles it, along with wireless microphones for speeches.

Good to know
What to expect
Kim's voice carries real weight, and it moves across genres without sounding like it's straining to. Next to her is Dan Ablett on guitar, percussion and vocals, and between them the two of them fill a room. They've done a lot of weddings, corporate nights and private parties, so nothing about your run sheet is going to surprise them. And the shape is flexible. Kim also works solo, singing and accompanying herself on guitar for a quieter, more laid back feel, or the act stretches out into an acoustic trio or a full band if your night wants more.
On the day
No power at the venue is not a problem. They'll bring a good battery powered PA and run the whole thing off it, which makes a paddock ceremony or a garden reception straightforward. Let them know when you enquire so they pack accordingly.
Performance options
Whichever way you book them, a quality PA comes as part of it, and that includes wireless microphones you can grab for speeches. Before a wedding there's a phone consultation to walk through the day. They also handle background music before the first set and in the gaps between, so the room never falls silent while they're having a drink of water.
