Heartbreak lyrics over warm folk melodies, which is a harder combination to pull off than it sounds. Kelsey Berrington has spent the last five years performing solo and with his folk duo Freight Train Foxes, playing Woodford Folk Festival, Gympie Muster, Ground Water, Neurum Creek and Majors Creek, touring to the US for AmericanaFest in 2024 and busking his way around the UK and Europe. Two full length solo albums, five EPs with the duo, and over five million streams. He's primarily an originals writer but enjoys throwing in covers, usually Vance Joy, Ed Sheeran or Passenger, with some Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon for the older heads. Brings his own PA for vocals and guitar.

What to expect
Originals first. Kelsey Berrington is a folk songwriter before he's anything else, and the bulk of a set is his own material. But he likes dropping covers in, and the ones that turn up are usually Vance Joy, Ed Sheeran or Passenger, with a bit of Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon for anyone in the room who was listening in the eighties. It's warm folk with lyrics that don't shy away from the sad ones. Good for a room where people are actually listening, and it still works when they're not.
On the day
Kelsey Berrington brings his own PA for the vocal and the guitar, so there's no sound gear on your list. He just needs somewhere to put it and power nearby.
