He knows what's required, he takes pride in doing it properly, and when the timing shifts, as it always does, he adapts without fuss. There's a real stage presence to the performance too. He brings a professional standard keyboard, or plays your acoustic piano if the venue has one worth using.
Around two hours for setup is ideal, and for some events the earlier the better. Forty five minutes is the least he can work with. The performance area needs to be about 1.5 by 2.5 metres, which covers the PA and lights as well. Beyond that: power, either a wall point or an extension lead, and a clean, level, dry patch that's out of the way of foot traffic. Covered, if you're outdoors.
The default is three 45 minute sets. That can stretch to longer sets or more of them, or the sets can be spread further apart to sit around speeches, and delays on the night are easy enough to absorb. The repertoire is past 600 songs, running from the 50s to now, weighted towards pop covers, jazz, soul and funk.
