Joe turns up 30 to 60 minutes before he plays, sets up and sound checks, so nothing is half-built when your guests walk in. The performance leans on melody, with loop pedal layers and harmonica filling out the space around the guitar. He'll learn one or two songs specifically for your occasion, which is worth taking him up on. Set times are flexible and he'd rather talk the running order through with you beforehand than guess at it. Songs come from a wide list across pop, folk, Celtic and roots.
On the day
He travels with a PA that suits smaller rooms, so an intimate venue is covered. For a bigger event, a larger system gets hired in, or he'll plug into whatever the venue already runs, which is often the simplest answer. Either way it's a conversation to have when you enquire, so the sound matches the space you've booked.
Performance options
Every option is built on the same core, vocals, acoustic guitar, stomp box and loop pedal, and what changes is the running time. The short booking runs up to an hour and suits background music or a small gathering. The middle one goes to two hours with a set list chosen for your event and one special song request, a first dance for instance. The longest runs three hours, takes up to three special requests, pulls songs across several genres and keeps music going during the breaks. Sound is set up professionally in all three. Extra playing time can be added, and larger sound or lighting rigs are available if the room needs them.
