The act
Jasmin Kotsapas fronts it, and you may have seen her on The Voice and X Factor in 2016. Brett Dengate is on guitar. Together they've been playing Sydney events for more than a decade, hundreds of shows across weddings, corporate nights, Christmas parties, festivals and private functions. Soul, funk, R&B, reggae and pop is where they live, and the core of the sound runs from Etta James through to Bruno Mars. They read a room well, which means a relaxed cocktail set early and something that fills the floor later. Available as a duo, a trio or a full band, with saxophone in the mix. All they need is venue power. Setup takes 60 to 90 minutes. Full public liability insurance.

What to expect
Jasmin sings and Brett plays guitar, and between them they've done hundreds of Sydney nights: weddings, corporate dinners, Christmas parties, festivals, private functions. Soul, funk, R&B, reggae and pop is the heart of it, running from Etta James up to Bruno Mars. The useful part is that they watch the room. Early on it stays relaxed and conversational. Later it gets louder and the floor fills. Brett's live looping and Jasmin's percussion mean even the duo doesn't sound thin, which matters if you've only got space for two people.
On the day
Access to the venue's power is all they ask for. Everything else, sound included, arrives with them. Give them somewhere between an hour and 90 minutes before guests arrive for a full set up, and less if you've booked a smaller line-up.
Performance options
Duo, trio or the full band, and which one you want usually comes down to room size and how much dancing you're expecting. Weddings can be covered end to end, from the ceremony through to the reception, rather than just the party bit. Corporate nights, birthdays and engagement parties all get the same treatment. Tell them the shape of the event when you enquire and they'll say which line-up they'd send.
