A production of Once the Musical put these two in the same cast, and they've been singing together ever since, both in the a cappella cabaret outfit Ginger and Tonic and in this acoustic covers duo. Lisa Hanley brings music theatre, Jane Patterson brings classical violin training, and the result is a pop duo built on soulful harmonies with a violin line running through it. Over five hours of material, most of it pop and classics stretching from the sixties to now, plenty of it rearranged for guitar, violin and two voices. Mostly pop and classics reaching from the sixties through to now, with a good chunk rearranged for guitar, violin and two voices rather than played straight. People do get up and dance to it. But it also holds a quieter, more polished room without pushing. And if there's a song that matters to you, say so early and they'll look at it.
One power socket is the only thing they genuinely need from you. A flat, dry patch to stand on makes life easier, and they'll bring the sound gear themselves, scaled to the room, whether that's a small function space or something considerably bigger.
Ceremony and canapes covers the aisle song, signing song and exit song you choose, played live, plus a 45 minute set afterwards while guests are drinking and mingling, with recorded music running beforehand as people arrive. The three hour ceremony version adds a second 45 minute set across the first part of the reception, and the first dance can go in there. For receptions, private parties and corporate work there's a two hour shape, two sets of 45 minutes, and a three hour one with three. Both of those include the first dance played live and the sound system available for speeches while they're there. Recorded music fills the breaks. Anything outside those shapes, just ask.
