Older guests get the 60s and 70s hits they grew up on, and there's enough from the 80s onwards to keep everyone else dancing. The players have a lot of years between them, so the band reads a room and can drop from full throttle to a mellow slow dance without losing it. The beat sits out front and the sing-along choruses do the rest, which is why the older end of the room and the younger end usually end up on the floor at the same time. Nothing precious about it. They're there to get a party moving and keep it there until the lights come on.
