Two people, but it lands like five. Groove record all their own loops and sequences in the studio, so the duo carries the depth of a full band without needing the stage space for one. The night is built in stages: ambient and sophisticated while guests arrive and eat, then Top 40 and older favourites once people are ready to dance. Pop, rock, soul and funk, with harmonies. There's a wedding version with live acoustic music for the ceremony or cocktail hour before the party sets. Sound, lighting and background music between sets are all provided. Two metres square and one power point is genuinely all they need. Public liability insurance is held.

Reading the room is the whole job here. Arrivals and dinner get something layered and unobtrusive, then the night climbs from there until the floor fills. Because the loops and sequences are their own studio work rather than off-the-shelf backing, a two-piece hits with the weight of a five-piece band. They turn up on time, they look like they've thought about it, and the handover between live playing and background music happens without a gap you'd notice.
Two metres by two is enough floor space, which is less than most people expect. One reliable 240 volt outlet covers the power. Give them about 90 minutes before the start for bump-in and sound check, plus 45 minutes afterwards to pack down. Outdoors they'll need level ground and something overhead in case the weather turns. PA and stage lighting are theirs, so the production side is fully self-contained.
The standard Groove duo is male and female vocals over live guitars, with the studio-built backing underneath. It works where floor space is tight. The wedding version puts two vocalists on live acoustic music for your ceremony or cocktail hour, then shifts into the party sets once the reception gets going.
