Govinda Abbott is a Byron Bay-based trumpet player.
Relaxed, beautiful sounds are the feeling Govinda Abbott sets out to bring to an occasion. The Byron Bay musician followed an early path through jazz studies in Sydney before completing a masters degree in jazz and pedagogy in East Germany. His experience covers traditional and contemporary jazz in both small ensembles and big bands. Fifteen years living and working in Germany sit within an international story that also includes teaching at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory. At a wedding, the moment to hear him is one where you want guests to pause and let those calm sounds settle around them.
