Two very different nights from one Sydney musician. The looping show builds house music in front of the room on a custom rig: a five channel loop station, drum machine, sampler, synth, vocaliser and DJ effects, running up to three hours with maybe a ten minute break. Expect funky, disco, tech, Afro, Latin and French house, plus remixes of Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Sister Sledge and Chic. The other mode is piano bar, and that catalogue tops 400 songs across swing, ballads, classic rock, soul and rock and roll. Venue PA is fine, or a full PA with lighting comes along. An acoustic grand is the preference where a room has one. Bigger line ups go up to ten pieces with brass, harp and percussion.

What to expect
The house music show is made in front of you, nothing pre-baked. A custom-built looping rig does it: five channel loop station, drum machine, sampler, synth keyboard, vocaliser and DJ-style effects, layered live into a non-stop mix that can run three hours, give or take a ten minute breather. Expect funky, disco, tech, Afro, Latin and French house, plus remixes of Daft Punk, Sister Sledge, Chic and Queen. Piano bar is a different animal. Thirty years of playing solo and with rock, funk, pop, R&B, house and Latin bands sits behind it, along with a deep well of Sinatra-era swing, and sets built to your brief.
On the day
Your venue's PA works fine, or he'll bring his own including lighting. For the house looping show he supplies all his own instruments. For piano bar he can bring an electric piano, though he'd much rather play an acoustic grand if the room has one. If karaoke is part of the plan, an extra microphone and stand come along. Ideally there's a covered performance area of about two metres by three with a small stage riser, but neither is a dealbreaker.
Set List
For the looping show, the material keeps evolving. Current covers pull from Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Carl Cox, Technotronic, Moloko, C+C Music Factory, Bomfunk MC's and Eric Prydz, then Stardust, Crystal Waters, Martin Solveig, Modjo, Funkstar De Luxe, Infusion, Jungle Brothers and The Soul Searchers. On top of that sit house remixes and mash-ups: Chic and Sister Sledge, The Trammps, James Brown, Hot Chocolate, Eddy Grant and the Steve Miller Band from the older end, then Queen, Madonna, House of Pain, Outkast, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars. The piano bar list is separate and tops 400 songs across most styles, running from dinner and background music through chilled beats to outright dance floor fillers. Each set gets tailored to the venue and the brief.
Performance options
The smallest booking is solo instrumental, or solo piano and vocals. Then there's the house music live looping show, which is its own thing entirely. Beyond that he works with professional musicians and can build out to a duo, a trio or more, drawing on brass, bass, guitar, harp, vocalists, drums and percussion, right up to a ten piece big band. A PA with lights can come as part of the booking, and there's an extra microphone available if you need one for MC duties.
