Emma Tomlinson

The act

Emma Tomlinson sings the Australian and New Zealand national anthems for a living some weeks. She performed the Australian anthem at the 2025 Ampol Women's State of Origin, the New Zealand anthem at Cricket Australia's 2024 T20 against the Black Caps, and was a feature artist at the FIFA Fan Festival during the 2023 Women's World Cup. She accompanies herself on piano and blends pop, pop-classical crossover, RnB and alternative pop, with seven years of classical opera and musical theatre training underneath it. The set moves through Amy Shark, Matt Corby, Flume, Billie Eilish, Amy Winehouse, Sia and Kate Bush, plus her own recorded material. Solo usually, or as a duo with a guitarist. She brings her own Roland keyboard, Yamaha speakers, mixer and mics, and works the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast.

Good to know

What to expect

Emma Tomlinson turns up early. For a gig that usually means half an hour to an hour before she plays, and for a larger event it stretches to one or two hours, or whatever time you ask her to be there. She dresses for the occasion. Most bookings are her solo at the keyboard, though she also performs as a duo with a guitarist playing covers, and there's a version with a pianist as well. Corporate events, weddings, birthdays and parties are all part of the regular run, and she travels for work.

On the day

She brings her own rig. A Roland FP30 with 88 keys sits on an adjustable stand, and the sound comes from two Yamaha DBR12 speakers on stands through a Yamaha MG10XU mixer. Vocals go through an AKG D5, with a Shure SM58 kept aside as backup, plus stands, leads and the lead the piano needs. If your event already has sound and equipment in place, or a corporate setup she has to fit into, she'll work with that instead.
