The act
Violin and accordion give Emily Gelineau and Danilo da Paz a distinctive starting point. From there, the duo travels through French gypsy jazz, Brazilian choro and Argentine tango, shaped by both musicians' international experience. Emily is an Australian violinist, pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger who studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her work crosses jazz, country, pop, funk and several world music traditions. Brazilian accordionist Danilo has been active in Australia's music scene since 2014 and founded Perth Choro to bring that style further into local jazz circles. Together they offer a small-format performance with real geographical range, built on acoustic interplay rather than a standard covers set.
