Duo Sao Paulo is Marcio Mendes on voice and multiple instruments with Ben Vanderwal on drums and percussion, blending electronic textures into acoustic playing. Marcio comes from Sao Paulo and has worked professionally since his early twenties, performing with Djavan and with Brazilian samba and pagode bands including Mundo do Samba, Arte Popular and Negritude Junior. Ben is among the most in demand jazz drummers in the country, with touring behind him across the UK, France, Ireland, India, the USA, Japan and much of Asia. The chemistry between them is the act.
