What to expect
The night gets built around what you want it to sound like, so the first conversation is about the room rather than the gear. Smooth and classy early, or straight to a packed floor, either way the playlist is put together for your event specifically, with your own requests folded in among the tracks that reliably work. He turns up well before guests do, gets the PA and lights in place, and has it all running before anyone walks through the door. Then it's just music, read live off the crowd, right through to the last song.
On the day
Not much. A flat surface to set up on, and a stable power point nearby. A single 10 amp 240 volt outlet, the same as any household socket, does the job.
Performance options
Four ways to go. DJ on his own is the simplest. Add live percussion over the top of the mix and the sound gets a lot bigger. Add sax instead and you get melody lines played live across the tracks. Or take the lot together, DJ plus percussion plus sax, which is the fullest version of the show.
