Anthony and Rachael play soul, the old kind, mostly. Sam Cooke, Aretha, Etta James, Wilson Pickett, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, with Fleetwood Mac and Tracy Chapman finding their way in too. Anthony's loop pedals and effects thicken the guitar enough that people assume there are more than two musicians on stage. It works quietly behind a meal and it works when you want people up. And the duo scales: add bass and drums for a quartet, then sax or trumpet or keys for a quintet, or go all the way to six pieces with horns. They play 2 to 5 hours with the PA included, and cover weddings, corporate nights, community events and pub residencies. They played Monster Mayhem in the Meadows. Public liability insurance held.

Good to know
What to expect
Two people, but it rarely sounds like two. Anthony's loop pedals and effects build the guitar out until the sound sits closer to a band, and Rachael's voice carries over the top of it. The pair can play mellow, in the background, while people eat and talk. Or they can push into the uptempo end and get the floor moving. They read which one your event wants and go there. Old soul is the heart of the repertoire, so think Sam Cooke and Aretha rather than anything current.
On the day
Power, a patch of about 2m by 2m, and if you've got them outdoors, something over their heads. Shade in the middle of the day, cover if there's any chance of rain. Gear and weather don't mix.

Performance options
The duo is vocals and percussion alongside guitar and backing vocals, playing anywhere from two to five hours with the PA included. Add bass and drums and you've got the quartet. Add sax, trumpet or keys on top of that and it's a quintet. For weddings they'll cover the cocktail hour after the ceremony, pre reception drinks, mellow music through the meal and then the dancing later on. Corporate nights, networking events, parties and community events all work the same way, and they take on bar and restaurant residencies too.
