Crash Bam Rock came out of Melbourne band Slap Bam Boom, and the players between them have well over a century of stage time locally, nationally and overseas. One of them co-hosted Countdown. What they do now is dance floor material from the 60s through the 90s: Rick Astley, Disco Inferno, ABBA, The Killers, Mustang Sally, Nutbush City Limits, Sweet Caroline. Three sets of 40 to 45 minutes across three hours is the usual shape, and it can be reworked for the occasion. PA and lighting come with them, and they'll hand over a microphone for birthday, wedding or anniversary speeches. Private functions, sporting clubs, weddings, corporate nights, pubs and clubs. Outdoors, they'll want cover and a wet weather plan.

Good to know
What to expect
Three sets, each running 40 to 45 minutes, spread over roughly three hours. That's the standard shape and it can be reworked if your night runs to a different timetable. Crash Bam Rock will also hand over a microphone when speeches are due, which covers birthdays, anniversaries and weddings without anybody scrambling for a spare mic halfway through the evening.
On the day
Enough floor for a drum kit, guitar and bass amps and a PA. Power needs to be within reach, and the stage area itself has to be easy to get to when the gear is coming in. If the night is outside, put them under cover and have a plan for rain. That last one matters more than people think, because a wet weather backup decided on the day is rarely a good one.
