Two female vocalists out front, two guitarists, bass and drums. That's Contraband, a Perth rock covers band built for rooms that want the volume up. MJ handles the rock, blues and soul end with a voice that's raw and loud, and she cut her teeth on Dutch stages before landing in WA. Cass takes most of the pop material and has been part of the Perth scene for years, including tribute work for Kylie and Lady Gaga plus her own karaoke events. The set list runs Fleetwood Mac and Toto through to Lizzo and Miley Cyrus, with Jet, INXS and Divinyls covering the Australian side. They also keep a deep list of fill-in players, so a member being unavailable rarely means the band is.

The players behind them come from national and international touring, studio work and years in the Perth scene, and one of the guitarists is known for reading a crowd and shifting his style to suit whoever is in front of him.
