The act
Straight-up rock and roll, played live with no backing tapes. Cobra 45s have worked Melbourne's pub and club dance floors since 2012, covering the hits of the 50s, 60s and 70s: Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, Elvis, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Creedence and Roy Orbison among plenty of others. Johnny HoundDog leads the rock and roll vocals and harmonies, and the sax and lead guitar get their own moments to show off. The band brings quality PA and lighting and will happily tailor sets to suit a venue or booker. The playlist is built for one purpose. Getting people out of their chairs and keeping them there.

Good to know
What to expect
Rock and roll and rhythm and blues, played fast and played live. Cobra 45s work the 50s, 60s and 70s hits with authentic vocals and harmonies from Johnny HoundDog and the rest of the band, and both the sax and the lead guitar get proper solo turns rather than sitting in the background. The whole playlist is chosen with one job in mind, which is getting people up and keeping them there.
On the day
Sound and lighting both come with the band, and it's proper gear rather than something scraped together, so a venue doesn't need to supply either. That makes them straightforward to put into a room that has no house system, which covers a good number of the pubs and clubs they've worked around Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Set List
It's an enormous playlist, which is what happens when a band works Melbourne and regional venues from 2012 onwards. Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Big Joe Turner, Bill Haley and His Comets, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Creedence, Elvis, Roy Orbison and Dion all feature, plus the Blues Brothers and Commitments material. Broadly, if it was a hit across the 50s, 60s or 70s there's a fair chance they play it.
