Five players, strong lead vocals and a rhythm section that doesn't let a song sag. Coastal Drift are a Perth covers band who put their own spin on popular songs, and they measure themselves by getting asked back. The set list gets refreshed regularly, mixing older favourites with newer Hottest 100 material: Read My Mind, Robbery, Second Solution, Dumb Things, El Scorcho, King of the Mountain, Valerie, Fake Plastic Trees, Under the Milky Way. They've played Gidgestock, the Bickley Harvest Festival, Toodyay Music Fest, Gatsby's Cabaret Lounge, the Lancelin Sands Hotel, Royal Perth and Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Clubs, and the Gov's Sports Bar on Rottnest 27 times. They bring PA, lights, instruments and their own sound engineer, so 240 volt power is all that's needed. Regional work welcome.

Good to know
What to expect
Five players who genuinely like each other's company, which you can hear. Coastal Drift aim squarely at entertaining the room rather than showing off, and the measure they use is how often venues ask them back. Western Australia has seen plenty of them. Gidgestock across six different years, the Bickley Harvest Festival across seven, the York Motorcycle Festival, Gatsby's Cabaret Lounge, the Lancelin Sands Hotel and 27 gigs at The Gov's Sports Bar on Rottnest. Add the Royal Perth and Royal Freshwater Bay yacht clubs, South Freo Sailing Club, Port Beach Garden Bar, the Parkerville Tavern, Kalamunda Night Markets, Swan Valley and Bickley Valley wineries, plus council events and a long run of private parties and weddings.
On the day
One 240 volt outlet. That's the whole list. The band turns up with the PA, the lights, the instruments, the leads and cables, and their own sound engineer to run it, so nobody at your end is left guessing at a mixer. There's a useful extra if you want it: background music through their PA before the band starts, between sets and after they finish, either your playlist off Spotify or a USB stick, or theirs if you'd rather not think about it.
