Big lead vocals up front, a tight six-piece engine behind them. That's the Caxton Club formula: guitars, keys, bass and drums, with multi-instrumentalists swapping roles through the night. The Brisbane band work covers from the 70s through the 90s, so a set might run Superstition into Nutbush into Long Train Running, with The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Jimmy Barnes, Shania Twain and Tina Turner all in reach. Sets go for 45 minutes with breaks between, two to four of them depending on the night. The band bring their own amps, drums and microphones; the venue supplies the PA, though they can help sort one if needed. Insurance.

Good to know
What to expect
Caxton Club get described as a front line of powerful vocals over a rock solid ensemble, and it's fair. The line-up runs guitars, keys, bass and drums, with multi-instrumentalists in it so parts get swapped around through the night. They've clearly put work into building a show rather than just a song list, and the aim is a night that rocks the venue without leaving anyone out.
On the day
Every member brings their own gear: personal amps, guitar and bass amps, drums, keyboard and microphones. A PA is needed at the venue, though the band can help sort one out if you don't have access.
