Funk, soul and R&B, played by six people who clearly enjoy each other's company. Booty Jooce formed in Perth back in 2003 and have spent the years since reworking classics, pulling gritty 70s bass lines into classic hip hop, then into smooth 90s and modern R&B, then out to roots, rock and reggae. Two singers front the band: Jade Webb, with either Danny Martin or Aaron Malone alongside her. Wayne Strong is on guitar, Ivan Shaw on keys, Sam Pettit on drums and Joe Southwell on bass. The Roots, Soulive, DJ Premier and DJ Jazzy Jeff are all in the DNA, and the sets are built to shift with the mood of the room rather than run to a fixed order. They work clubs, live venues, weddings and corporate nights across Perth.
