The act
Puns, banter and a sharp read on a room. Ben Sorensen is a Melbourne MC and comedian who threads stories through your program rather than just reading names off a run sheet, an inclusive host who makes sure everyone can relax into the night. His CV is unusually broad: former Nine Network voiceover artist, former breakfast radio host, and a podcaster who's interviewed Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and John Travolta. As a comedian he's run his own venue at an international comedy festival. Clients include PwC, IBM, Ericsson and the Nine Network. He DJs too, with carefully chosen tracks, so the person holding your event together before dinner can also keep the floor moving after it.

Good to know
What to expect
As MC, you get someone witty and quick who keeps the whole room included, so nobody's sitting there waiting for the joke to be at their expense. As DJ, it's remixes and tracks chosen for your particular crowd rather than a stock playlist. And in either job he behaves like part of your team: he'll solve the problem when the run sheet slips, and he scales what he's doing to the size of the event.
On the day
A wireless microphone, a headset mic, or both. For bigger shows he'll also need an HDMI cable and power at the stage. On the hospitality side: water or mineral water, coffee, and a meal while he's on site. No dietary requirements to work around.
Set List
Nothing off the shelf. The material gets built around your event, which is the only way an MC set actually lands on the night.
