The act
A single cellist who sounds like a string section. April plays a Yamaha electric cello through a loop station, layering part on top of part until the room fills with that lush, Bridgerton-style string sound, all from one performer. She's spent well over a decade playing weddings and corporate events with string ensembles, and her solo sets lean on love songs people actually know: Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Vance Joy and Michael Bublé among them. For a wedding she'll cover the pre-ceremony arrivals, the bridal entrance, the signing and the exit, then keep playing while canapés go round. And when a voice is wanted, she performs as a duo with singer and guitarist Yvonne. Public liability insured, with all leads tested and tagged.

Good to know
What to expect
Think of the lush string soundtrack under a Bridgerton scene, except it's your favourite love songs and there's one person playing it. Looping technology lets April layer cello part on cello part until the sound fills out like a small string section. The song list is contemporary rather than classical, made up of warm, swooning, toe-tapping songs your guests will already know.
On the day
Power at each performance location, within 40 metres. If you're moving her from one spot to another during the booking, allow up to 15 minutes for the move and setup, and there'll be no music during that gap. She also needs proper shelter from rain, strong wind and heavy heat, which might mean a sheltered spot or something put up for the purpose.
Set List
Contemporary covers, chosen because people know them and react to them. Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Coldplay, U2, Ed Sheeran, Michael Buble, Ellie Goulding, The Beatles, Taylor Swift and Vance Joy are all in there, among others. It's string music with a modern turn to it, and it tends to surprise people who were expecting something more formal.
Performance options
The ceremony booking covers pre-ceremony music while your guests arrive, your chosen songs for the bridal entrance, the signing of the register and the bridal party exit, then a short set to close the ceremony off. The longer option adds music through the afternoon while guests mingle and canapes go around. That second part is her favourite stretch of the day, and it's where the atmosphere really gets made.
