Luke plays pub gigs for a living out of Fremantle and reads a room; his wedding package runs two half hour acoustic sets around the ceremony, two 45 minute sets at the reception, then four hours of DJing, MC duties included if wanted. The acoustic list leans on the Beatles, Blackbird, Here Comes The Sun and Come Together among them, alongside Angie, Dreams, Champagne Supernova and Skinny Love. Songs off the list can be learnt, the DJ set follows your taste, and if you already have a DJ he'll happily play the acoustic part alone. Easy to deal with, punctual and fun, by his own account. The job as he sees it is atmosphere: getting the right feel for your venue or your wedding, reading who's in front of him and playing songs he knows will land with that particular crowd. Pricing is laid out openly in the packages section rather than hidden behind a conversation.
On the day
A power socket. That is genuinely the whole list, because every bit of the gear is his and it's professional standard, so there's nothing for you to hire in or set up on the day.
Set List
Big list, and it leans on the bands people actually shout for. The Beatles are everywhere in it, from All My Loving and Blackbird to Come Together, Across The Universe and A Day In The Life. Then the Rolling Stones with Angie and You Can't Always Get What You Want, the Killers, Green Day's Basket Case, Oasis and Champagne Supernova, Radiohead's Creep, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police, The Verve, Fleetwood Mac's Dreams, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, INXS, Crowded House, Pearl Jam, Angus & Julia Stone, New Order, The Cure, Bill Withers, Van Morrison, David Gray, Leon Bridges, Stereophonics, Talking Heads and Build Me Up Buttercup. It goes on well past that.
Performance options
For weddings there's a combined acoustic and DJ package: two 30 minute ceremony sets, two hours of acoustic music across two 45 minute sets, then four hours of DJing, with high quality sound and lighting, a wireless microphone for speeches and MC work if you need it. The acoustic-only package covers two 30 minute sets either side of the ceremony plus two 45 minute reception sets with professional sound. Ceremony sets and reception sets can also be booked separately, extra sets added, and songs outside the set list learnt for you. The DJ booking runs from a four hour minimum with a set list built around your taste, sound and lighting, a wireless microphone for speeches and MC work available. Travel outside the metro area is worked out on the return trip, and south west weddings are arranged with an overnight stay. If you've got a different idea, he's happy to talk it through.
